Safety

Nothing on this page is optional. Safety is the first of the league’s three priorities — before learning, before fun.

Before the Season

First Aid

Coordinator input needed: whether any volunteers hold current first aid / CPR / AED certification per sport, where the nearest AEDs are at each venue, and whether the league sponsors certification courses. If you know, this page wants it.

Concussions: When in Doubt, Sit Them Out

If a player takes a hit to the head or body and shows any sign of concussion — headache, dizziness, confusion, balance problems, vision changes, “just not right” — remove them from play immediately. They do not return the same day, and they don’t return at all until cleared by a medical professional.

Call 911 first for any serious injury. League reporting comes after the child is taken care of.
